Engineering & Architecture Manager for SafeThings

The Challenge

As our flagship product – SafeThings – grows in success and complexity, we are looking to complement our R&D team with strong technical leadership to align the business focus with the appropriate technology solutions.

This role will collaborate with Product Management to transform business requirements into functional design specifications and implementation plans.

The Team

You will be part of the SafeThings team and will report directly to the Business Unit Lead in Bucharest.

It is envisaged that you collaborate with Product Management to transform business requirements into functional design specifications and implementation plans, and then lead a team of fifteen towards sound execution and delivery.

You will need

  • Sound capacity to own the master-view of a large project and manage cross-dependencies
  • 5+ years involved in architecture efforts that requires close collaboration with project teams
  • 3+ years of implementing agile methodologies
  • Review-level command of at least 2 programming languages (preferable among JS, Java, Python or C/C++)
  • 3+ years of experience with network design and/or own a Cisco certification
  • 2+ years with databases systems (relational and non-relational)
  • 2+ years with performance optimizations such as improving scalability, availability, throughput, failover
  • Ability to work with both senior management level executives and development teams
  • Excellent documentation abilities
  • Have familiarity with the cybersecurity problem space is a plus

What you will do

  • Provide technical architecture designs, reviews and strategy recommendations
  • Harmonize, synchronize and coordinate the efforts across multiple development teams
  • Lead the team towards optimal decisions, even when time and consensus are sensitive
  • Support and lead where necessary strategic planning on technical stack, design, architecture and deployment requirements
  • Ensure technical project delivery processes are in place and being executed, so that the technical solution delivers the business value
  • Communicate strategy, planning and status regularly with managers, delivery teams, stakeholders and business clients
