Technical Team Manager

The Challenge

As a Technical Team Manager of Connect Services & Licensing team in Avira Customer Connect unit you will be responsible for the core backend systems which connect Avira users/customers with Avira world.

The Team

You will lead a team of 14 engineers and give them the direction to setup the best in class technology stack to support the development of the APIs that enables Avira's applications and services.

You have

  • Sound capacity to own the master-view of a large project and manage cross-dependencies
  • 5+ years involved in architecture efforts that requires close collaboration with multiple project teams
  • 3+ years of experience with agile methodologies
  • Review-level command of at least 2 programming languages (preferable among PHP, JS, Java, Python or C/C++)
  • 2+ years with databases systems (relational and non-relational)
  • 2+ years with performance optimizations such as improving scalability, availability, throughput, failover
  • Ability to work with both senior management level executives and development teams
  • Excellent documentation abilities
  • Familiarity with the cybersecurity problem space is a plus
  • Self-motivated
  • Great communication skills
  • Strong conceptual and analytical skills and highly data driven decision making
  • Problem solving skills
  • Results oriented, autonomous and structured working style
  • Good English Language skills

What you will do

  • Provide technical architecture designs, reviews and strategy recommendations
  • Harmonize, synchronize and coordinate the efforts across multiple development teams
  • Lead the team towards optimal decisions, even when time and consensus are sensitive
  • Support and lead where necessary strategic planning on technical stack, design architecture and deployment requirements
  • Ensure technical project delivery processes are in place and being executed, so that the technical solution delivers the business value
  • Communicate strategy, planning and status regularly with managers, delivery teams, stakeholders and business clients
  • Represent the team in all company meetings and events
